Phoenix Desert Vista won the AIA's inaugural Open Division girls basketball state championship in dominant fashion over Goodyear Millennium in March, but found itself searching for a new coach not long afterward. On Tuesday, the Thunder announced its nationally ranked program has a new head coach. Erin O'Bryan is leaving Mesa Desert Ridge after six seasons to replace David Williams, who resigned from the team on April 24. "I am delighted to welcome Coach O'Bryan to Desert Vista," Desert Vista principal Stacy White said.
